Ordered, That one thousand copies of the report and papers of
the House Committee, appointed to examine into the affairs of the
Maryland Penitentiary, be printed for the use of the Senate.

[See Document L.]

Mr. Lynch presented a petition remonstrating against the in-
corporation of Ellicott's Mills;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpora-
tions.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the following
message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

August 1st, 1861.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

You are hereby respectfully requested to return to this House,
House Bill No. 3, now on file in the Senate, providing for an
additional constable in Cambridge Election District, in Dorchester
county.

Chief Clerk.
Which was read.
Mr. Brooke submitted the following message:
