Which was read and referred to the Committee on Federal
Relations.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the following
message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

July 31st, 1861.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

The House of Delegates propose, with the concurrence of the
Senate, the appointment of a Joint Committee of the two Houses,
to consist of three on the part of the House and two of the Senate,
to take into consideration the day and place of the adjournment
of this General Assembly.

We have appointed Messrs. Scott, Briscoe and Holland, as said
commitee on the part of the House.

M. Y. KIDD,

Chief Clerk.
Which was read.
Mr. Townsend submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

August 1st, 1861.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message suggesting the appointment
of a Joint Committee on the question of adjournment, and concur
therein.

We have appointed Messrs. Townsend and Whitaker, on the
part of the Senate.

WM. KILGOUR,

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of Dele-
gates.
