Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

A bill, entitled, An act to authorize the Vestry of St. Peter's
church, in the town of Salisbury, in Somerset county, to take,
have and hold a lot of land devised by the last will and testament
of Wm. Henry Dulany,

Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays as fol-
lows:

Franklin, Townsend,

Heckart, Whitaker—12.

NEGATIVE——NONE.

Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

A bill, entitled, An act to make an appropriation to compensate
that portion of the Sixteenth Regiment of Maryland Militia,
which, in obedience to an order of His Excellency, Governor
Hicks, performed guard duty at the State Armory, in Frederick,
from April 22d to May 11th, 1861, inclusive,

Was taken up.
On motion,

A call of the roll was ordered, the following Senators answering
to their names:

Messrs. Brooke, President; Blackistone, Bradley, Duvall,
Heckart, Kimmel, McKaig, Stone, Townsend, Whitaker—11.

The Sergeant-at-Arras returned, and reported that he had noti-
fied the absent Senators that their attendance was required at the
Senate chamber.
