172 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [June 10,

MONDAY, June 10th, 1861.

Mr. Kimmel presented the following memorial:

Of Thomas Duvall, C. M. Shank, C. M. Riggs, Jacob Brady,
Ruben Moxley, and fifty other citizens of Urbana district, Fred-
erick county, respectfully asking of the General Assembly of
Maryland their immediate adjournment, whereby the public wel-
fare will be promoted;

Which was read, and laid on the table.

Mr. Franklin, from the Committee on the Library, reported the
following:

An act further to define the duties of the State Librarian;
Which was read the second time.

Mr. Townsend, from the Committee on Internal Improvements,
reported favorably on the following:

A bill, entitled, An act authorizing and empowering the County
Commissioners of Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties to
levy a sum of money to pay for the erection of a bridge across
the Patuxant river, at Queen Anne;

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Heckart, from a select committee, reported favorably on
the following:

A bill, entitled, An act to amend Article 8th of the Code of
Public Local Laws, relative to the powers granted by law to the
President and Commissioners of the village of Port Deposite, by
adding thereto the following section ————;

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, from the Committee on Finance,
reported favorably the following:

A bill, entitled, An act to amend the 4th Article of the Code of
Public Local Laws, by adding thereto the following sections,
authorizing the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to increase
the public debt of said city, and repealing section 871 of said
Article;

Which was read the second time,
