FRIDAY, June 7th, 1861.

Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, presented the following petitions:

Of Thomas H. W. Lambdin, O. C. Dodson, and two hundred
and ninety-four other citizens of Talbot county, praying an im-
mediate adjournment of the Legislature sine die.

Of Howes Goldsborough, Jr., Alexander H. Mackey, and thirty-
nine other citizens of Talbot county, praying for an immediate
adjournment of the Legislature sine die.

Which were severally read, and laid on the table.
Also, the following petitions:

Of Samuel T. Hopkins, and thirty-one other citizens of Talbot
county, against any action by the Legislature remedying the
defects in the qualification of Tench Tilghman, as Major General
of the Second Division of Maryland Militia.

Of R. W. Cheers, and two hundred and ten other citizens of
Talbot county, against the passage of any act confirming the
appointment of Tench Tilghman as Major General of the Second
Division of Maryland Militia.

Which were read.

Mr. McKaig moved to refer the petitions to the Committee on
Militia.

The yeas and nays being demanded, appeared as follows:
