MONDAY, May 13th, 1861.

Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, from the Committee on Finance,
to whom was referred a bill, entitled,

An act making appropriations for the payment of the expenses
of the General Assembly of Maryland, for the year one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-one, reported favorably on said bill.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. McKaig, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings, to
whom was referred a bill, entitled,

An act for the relief of David Knott, one of the sureties upon
the official bond of Alexander Knott, late Sheriff of Caroline
county, reported unfavorably on said bill; which, on

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough, of Dorchester,
Said report was concurred in.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the following
message:

Gentlemen of the Senate:

We have received your message proposing the appointment of
a Joint Special Committee of four members of each House, to
confer and report upon the time of adjournment, &c., and re-
spectfully concur therein, and have appointed as said Committee,
on the part of this House, Messrs. Hard ing, Goldsborough,
Winans, and Morgan.
