Which was read the first time, and referred to the Committe on
Militia.

Also, a bill, entitled, An act to pay Alien G. Quynn a sum of
money, for articles furnished troops protecting Frederick Bar-
racks, under order of the Governor.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Committee
on Finance.

The question was taken on the report submitted by the ma-
jority of the Committee.

Mr. Franklin offered the following

AMENDMENT!

Strike out Frederick City, and insert, "at the Seat of Govern-
ment."

Which was rejected.

Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, submitted the following

AMENDMENT:

Strike out the "4th day of June," and substitute the words'
"24th day of July."

The yeas and nays being demanded, appeared as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. Bradley, Goldsborough, of Dor.;

Duvall, Kimmel,

Franklin, Smith,

Goldsborough,of Talbot; Stone—8.

NEGATIVE.

So the Senate rejected the amendment.

Mr. Stone moved to adjourn until 4 o'clock.
