SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN LAND BETWEEN FIRST
ELECTION AND DEATH, between 1763 and ca. 1770,
Lee purchased 2,484 acres in Baltimore County,
as well as 2 lots on Fells Point, 1 lot in Baltimore
Town, and 2 lots in Joppa Town (one of them
being a water lot with a warehouse on it). In 1769
he sold his inherited property in Frederick County,
354 acres which he had owned jointly with his
sister Lettice. Two years later he gave to the wid-
owed Lettice the 200 acres in Dorchester County
that he had inherited from his father. He sold a
total of 480 acres in Baltimore County between
1771 and 1773, plus the water lot in Joppa Town.
In 1772 Lee mortgaged ail of his land, except the
