Repealed and
re-enacted.

and nineteen of article four of Public Local
Laws, title "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Jus-
tices of the Peace and Constables," as the
same was enacted by the act of eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-six, chapter twenty-eight, be
and the same is hereby repealed, and the fol-
lowing is hereby enacted as said section six
hundred and nineteen in lieu thereof.
SEC. 619. The Governor, by and with the
advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint
seven Justices of the Peace from the First Leg-
islative District of Baltimore city — one for each
of the wards thereof — and two Justices of the
Peace at large from said district; six Justices
of the Peace from the Second Legislative Dis-
trict of Baltimore city — one for each of the
wards thereof; also three Justices of the Peace
at large from said Second Legislative District ;

seven Justices of the Peace from the Third
Legislative District of Baltimore city — one for
each of the Avards thereof — and three Justices
of the Peace at large from said district, and
seven Justices of the Peace from the city of
Baltimore at large, who shall be appointed
from such ward or wards as the Governor may
elect and determine; provided, that the present
incumbents of said offices shall continue in
office until their successors under this act
shall be appointed, commissioned and quali-
fied.
