SEC. 40. That the said Town Commissioners

SEC. 41. That it shall not be lawful for the
keeper of any hotel, tavern, store, drinking
establishment, or any other place where li-
quors are sold, or for any person or persons di-
rectly or indirectly, to sell, barter or give or
dispense of any spirituous or fermented liquors,
ale or beer, or intoxicating drink of any kind,

town; any person violating or assisting in
violating the provisions of this section, shall,
upon conviction before a Justice of the Peace
of said town, be fined a sum not less than fifty
dollars nor more than one hundred dollars for
each and every offence; said fines to go to the
Town Commissioners for town expenses.

SEC. 42. That the said'Commissioners be and
they are hereby authorized, in their discre-
tion, to issue bonds or certificates of indebted-
ness to an amount not to exceed five thousand
dollars, of the denomination of fifty dollars or
any multiple of that sum, of such form as the
said Commissioners may prescribe, bearing
the lowest rate of interest not exceeding six
per centum per annum, at which said Com-
