CHAPTER 502.

AN ACT to repeal chapter two hundred and
ninety of the acts passed at the January ses-
sion of eighteen hundred and eighty-two,
entitled an act to protect the election of
voluntary political associations, and to pun-
ish, frauds therein, by adding certain sec-
tions to the Code of Public Local Laws,
article four, title "City of Baltimore/' under
the new sub-title "Primary Elections," and to
enact the following sections in lieu thereof :

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That chapter two hun-
dred and ninety of the acts passed at the Janu-
ary session of eighteen hundred and eighty-

two, entitled an act to protect the election of
voluntary political associations, and to punish
frauds therein, by adding certain sections to
the Code of Public Local Laws, article four,
title "City of Baltimore," under the sub-title
"Primary Elections," be and the same is hereby
repealed and the following sections enacted in
lieu thereof.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any primary
elections hereafter to be held by any voluntary
political association or party in the city of

Repealed.

Baltimore for delegates to any managing con-
vention, otherwise called City Convention, or
to any nominating convention, or for the
nomination of candidates for any State or
municipal office, shall be held under the terms
and subject to the provisions of this act, if so
determined as hereinafter provided, by such
voluntary political association or party.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That any such po-
litical association or party desiring to hold
any such primary election under the terms
and subject to the provisions of this act, shall
determine the same by a majority resolution
of its managing convention, which resolution
