chapter four hundred and thirty-nine, acts of
eighteen hundred and eighty; and

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS the State Veterinarian did not at-
tend to or visit said cattle as he was ordered to
do by Governor Hamilton, and in consequence
twenty-seven head of them died, inflicting
great loss on said John Smith; therefore,
|
|
|
Compensation.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the Comptroller of
the Treasury be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to draw his warrant upon the
Treasurer of the State, for the sum of five
hundred dollars, in favor of the said John
Smith, for compensation to him in full for
said loss so sustained.

CHAPTER 492.
AN ACT to repeal chapter two hundred and
sixty-one of the acts passed by the General
Assembly of Maryland at the January ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and eighty-two, en-
titled an act to repeal article seventy-six of
the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Public Printer," and to enact an article in
lieu thereof, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.
