same power to distrain for said taxes as the
collectors of county taxes have, and shall pay
the same when collected to the said Commis-
sioners.
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the said Com-
missioners may annually appoint a Bailiff, who
shall execute all laws or ordinances made by
ttie Commissioners for the preservation of the
health and good order of the town, and for

that purpose shall have all the powers of a
Constable, and who shall give bond to the
County Commissioners for the faithful per-
formance of his duty, whose compensation
shall be entirely under the control and discre-
tion of the Town Commissioners.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That all fines and
forfeitures under the ordinances of the cor-
poration shall be recoverable as small debts,
and shall be paid into the hands of the Town
Commissioners.

take effect from the date of its passage.

sembly of Maryland, That a new section be

Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Allegany
County," sub-title ''Witnesses," to be numbered
