SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the General
Measurer's of Oysters shall receive a compen-
sation for the faithful performance of their
duties, of ten cents per hundred bushels, to be
paid by the seller and collected from the
seller by the buyer to be paid to the General

Measurer of Oysters; and any seller who shall
refuse to pay such compensation, and any
buyer who shall refuse to collect and pay over
any such compensation to the said General
Oyster Measurers, as well as all other person or
persons who shall violate any of the provisions
of this act, or interfere with any of the General
Measurers of Oysters in the discharge of his
duty, upon conviction by any Justice of the
Peace of this State pay a fine of twenty dol-
lars and costs, one-half of said fine to be paid

violation.

to the informer; and in default of which such
person or persons be confined in Jail until the
same be paid; provided, however, that no per-
son be confined for the non-payment of said
fine and costs longer than twenty days.

General
measurer to
serve.
|
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the General
Measurers of Oysters appointed at the present
session of the General Assembly shall be the
General Measurers of Oysters provided for in
this act, to serve for the time for which they
have been appointed.

|
Effective.
|
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
