CHAPTER 400.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Board
of Managers of the Maryland Hospital for
the Insane to sell and convey certain land
lying between the bed of the Catonsville
Short-Line Railroad Company and the Fred-
erick Turnpike, and to purchase in lieu there-
of other land more available for the purpose
of the Hospital ;
WHEREAS the land belonging to the Board of
Managers of the Maryland Hospital for the
Insane, lying between the road-bed of the Ca-
tonnsville Short-Line Railroad Company and

the Frederick Turnpike, is by said road-bed
divided from the other property and is no
longer available for the purpose of the Hos-
pital; and, whereas the said Board of Mana-
gers are desirous of selling said land and pur-
chasing in lieu thereof other land more avail-
able for the purposes of the said Hospital.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the Board of Man-
agers of the Maryland Hospital for the Insane
be and they are hereby authorized and em-
powered to sell and convey by deed to be exe-
cuted, acknowledged and recorded according
to law, in their discretion, the whole or any
part of the land belonging to the said corpor-
