HENRY LLOYD, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

Clerks, before they act as such, shall take an
oath before some Justice of the Peace for said
Worcester county to faithfully and impartially
perform the duties of said office.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That if it shall
appear by the returns of said Judges of Elec-
tion, that a majority of the votes as prescribed
by this act, have been cast against the sale of
spirituous, fermented or intoxicating liquors
or alcoholic bitters, then it shall not be lawful
for any person or persons, or any house, com-

pany or association, or body corporate, to sell,
directly or indirectly, at any place, or to give
away at his or her, their or its place of busi-
ness, any spirituous, fermented or intoxicating
liquors or alcoholic bitters, or intoxicating
drinks of any kind, within the said limits of
said town of Bishopville, as bounded by an.
act entitled an act to incorporate the town of
Bishopville, Worcester county, passed at Jan-
uary session, eighteen hundred and eighty-
four, chapter seventy, after the first day of
May, in the year of eighteen hundred and
eighty-six, nor shall any license be issued or
granted for the sale of the same in said town
after the first day of May, in the year eighteen
hundred and eighty-six, but if it shall appear

intoxicating liquors or alcoholic bitters, or in-
toxicating drinks of any kind, within the limits
of the said town of Bishopville, in Worcester
