shall exist as it now does in said city; there-
fore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the question whether
or not any person or persons, house, corpora-
tions, company or association maybe permitted
to sell any spirituous, fermented or intoxicat-
ing liquors of whatever origin, or alcoholic
bitters, at any time in said city of Annapolis,
shall be submitted to the registered and quali-
fied voters of said city of Annapolis on Wed-

nesday, the twenty-eighth day of April, eigh-
teen hundred and eighty-six, which election
shall be held in accordance with the law gov-
erning general elections in this State; and the
Sheriff of said county shall give notice of the
time and purpose of said election by advertise-
ments inserted in all the newspapers published
in said county and by hand-bills posted in each
ward of the city of Annapolis at least ten days
before the said election, in which notice a copy
of this act shall be inserted; and the expenses
of said election, including the advertisements
and. hand-bills aforesaid, shall be levied by the
Commissioners and paid by the Treasurer of
said county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That ballots for
or against such sale shall have printed or
written on them the words, "For license to sell
spirituous or fermented liquors or alcoholic
bitters," or "Against license to sell spirituous:

or fermented liquors or alcoholic bitters," and
the ballots so cast shall be carefully counted,
by the Judges of said Election, and the return
Judges shall make a return of said vote to the
Clerk of the Circuit Court of Anne Arundel
county, and said Clerk shall immediately make
proclamation of the result of said election.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That if it shall be
found by said return of the Judges of Elec-
tion and proclamation of said Clerk, that a.
majority of votes cast in said city of Annapo-
