CHAPTER 383.
AN ACT to enable the qualified voters of the
city of Annapolis to determine by ballot
Whether spirituous or fermented liquors, or
alcoholic bitters, shall be sold therein, and to
regulate the terms and conditions on which
the sale thereof may be made, in case the
majority of the voters of said city shall de-
termine said question in the affirmative, and
to regulate the sale thereof, and also to re-
vive the Public Local Laws of said county
relating to the sale of spirituous and fer-
mented liquors to minors in said city, and
within five miles thereof; also, the Sunday
and Election Laws of this State, which were
in force at the date of the passage of the
law known as the " Local Option Law of
Anne Arundel County," passed at the Jan-
uary session, eighteen hundred and eighty-
two, in case the said vote shall be in favor
of such sale.
PREAMBLE.

WHEREAS much doubt and uncertainty exist
in the minds of a large portion of the voters
of Anne Arundel county, whether the law
known as the " Local Option Law of said
county," passed at the session of the Legisla-
ture in eighteen hundred and eighty-two, chap-
ter one hundred and twelve, produces benefi-
cial results; and,
WHEREAS numerous petitions have been for-
warded to this Legislature, signed by a large
number of citizens and taxpayers residing in

the city of Annapolis who voted for the said
law as well as against it, and it being deemed
advisable, on account of said uncertainty and
doubt, to resubmit the question and grant an-
other election, in order that it may be definitely
