CHAPTER 368.
AN ACT to add section fifty-one A, to follow
section fifty-one, of article twenty- four, of
the Code of Public General Laws, in rela-
tion to releases of bills of sale and retransf ers
of the property mentioned therein, by the
vendees to the vendors.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That a new section, fifty-
one A, be added, to follow section fifty-one of
article twenty-four, of the Code of Public
General Laws, to read as follows :
SECTION 51 A. That in all cases, heretofore or
hereafter, where bills of sale are taken on per-
sonal property, which, according to the true
intent of the parties thereto, are chattle mort-
gages, upon the payment or discharges of the
debts named in said bills of sale by the vend-
ors, it shall be the duty of the vendee therein
named to release said bills of sale or retrans-
fer the property mentioned therein to the

vendors, which release or retransfer may be
made upon the original bills of sale, which
may be returned to the Record Office, and said
release or retransfer entered upon the record
book, when the bill of sale is recorded, at the
end of the record thereof, or the said release
or retransfer may be made in the presence of
the Clerk, with his attestation thereto, in the
record book in which the bill of sale is re-
corded, at the end of the record thereof.
