CHAPTER 341.
AN ACT for the suppression of vice by pre-
venting the purchase of intoxicating liquors
by minors in Allegany county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That any minor under
the age of twenty-one years, who shall, directly
or indirectly, purchase or procure from any
licensed liquor dealer, his agent or bar-tender,
in the county of Allegany, any spirituous or
fermented liquor or lager beer, with intent to
drink the same, or any person over the age of

twenty-one, who shall procure for any minor
any spirituous or fermented liquor or lager
beer, unless prescribed by a practising physi-
cian, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and on conviction thereof, shall be punished
by a fine of not more than twenty dollars,
or be imprisoned in the county Jail not more
than thirty days, or by both fine and impris-
onment in the discretion of the Court.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after 'the date of its pas-
sage.

CHAPTER 342.
AN ACT to pay Sallie W. Sevoult, of Washing-
ton county, for damages sustained during
the riot in eighteen hundred and seventy-
seven.

the Treasury be directed to issue his warrant
on the Treasurer to Sallie W. Sevoult, of Wash-
