CHAPTER 273.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay-
the firm of Vaile & Young, for labor done
and material furnished to the State Normal
School Building.
SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the sum of two hun-
dred and eighty-seven dollars and eighty-two
cents, be and the same is hereby appropriated

to pay Vaile & Young, for repairs to the
smoke-stack of the State Normal School Build-
ing, and the Comptroller is hereby directed to
issue his warrant upon the Treasurer, for the
sum of two hundred and eighty-seven dollars
and eighty-two cents, payable to the order of
Vaile & Young, for the amount named.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 274.
AN ACT to authorize the Treasurer, upon the
warrant of the Comptroller of the Treasury
of this State, to pay Hance Lawson a sum
of money, standing to his credit on the
books of the said Comptroller, as late Col-
lector of State taxes for Somerset county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted, That the Treasurer
of this State be and he is hereby authorized to
pay to Hance Lawson, upon the warrant of the
Comptroller, the sum of one hundred and sixty-

nine dollars and twenty-seven cents, standing
to the credit of said Lawson, as late Collector
of State taxes for Somerset county, on the
books of said Comptroller, said claim having
been approved by the State Treasurer and
Comptroller.
