city, to wit: Richard D. Johnson, Henry W.
Hoffman, Frederick Mertens, Samuel Sonne-
born and Theodore Luman, and their succes-
sors; provided, however that this act shall be
submitted for ratification to the voters of said
city of Cumberland, at the next city election,
to be held on the third Monday in May, eigh-
teen hundred and eighty-six, and if not then
ratified by a majority of the votes cast for and
against its ratification, the levies authorized
by this act shall not be made.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after its passage.

AN ACT to amend an act passed at a session
of the General Assembly of Maryland, held
in the year eighteen hundred and sixty-
eight, entitled "An act to incorporate the
Patapsco Guano Company of Baltimore."
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-

sembly of Maryland, That the corporate name
and style of the Patapsco Guano Company of
Baltimore, incorporated by an act passed at a
session of the General Assembly of Maryland,
held in the year eighteen hundred and sixty-
eight, chapter one hundred and sixty-five, be
and the same is hereby altered so that the
corporate name and style of the said corpora-
tion shall be "The Patapsco Guano Company."
