CHAPTER 209.

AN ACT to authorize and empower "The W'est-
minster Cemetery Company," incorporated
under an act of Assembly of this State, passed
at the January session eighteen hundred and
sixty-four, entitled " An act to incorporate a
company to establish a public cemetery at
Westminster, and to revive and connect there-
with the charter of 'The Westminster Gen-
eral Meeting House and Burying Ground,' to
take and receive bequests of money from the
estate of any decedent, or from any person
in his or her lifetime, and hold the same in
trust, and apply the same in accordance with
the last will and testament of the testator
or testatrix, or as such person may in her or
his lifetime direct."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That "The Westminster
Cemetery Company" be and it is hereby au-
thorized and empowered to take and receive
from the executor or executrix of the last
will and testament of any testator or testatrix,

such sum or sums of money as may be be-
queathed to it by any testator or testatrix, or
from any person in his or her lifetime, and
upon receipt of such money the said company
is authorized to execute a receipt or release
for the same, which said money shall be held
in trust by said Cemetery Company, and ap-
plied as directed by the person creating such
trust; provided, no money is authorized to be
so held by said company, except for purposes
appertaining to burial purposes, or the im-
provement or extension of the grounds of said
Cemetery Company.

Bequests.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act
shall take effect from the date of its passage.
