LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Treasurer a bond in a penalty to be fixed
by said Commissioners for the faithful dis-
charge of his duty as said Treasurer; and each
of said Commissioners shall receive the sum
of one hundred dollars per annum for his ser-
vices, and no more.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That F.W.Hutchins,
S. T. Suit and Horace Crosier, the three Commis-
sioners hereinbefore appointed, shall, within
twenty days from the passage of this act, come
together before some Justice of the Peace for
Calvert county, take the oath of office herein
prescribed, and proceed to the organization of
the Board by electing one of their number
President; they shall also elect a Secretary

Organization.

and Treasurer, a Constable, two Assessors of
Taxes, and do and perform everything required
or allowed to be done by the Commissioners
of Chesapeake Beach under the provisions of
this act; and they are hereby invested with
all the powers and required to perform all the
duties authorized or required to be done by
Commissioners of said town under this act;
and until the first election under this act, and
their successors are elected and qualified, they
shall remain and continue to be Commissioners
of Chesapeake Beach.

SEC. 10. Andbe it enacted, That the said Com-
missioners, and all other officers of said town,
shall, before entering upon the duties of their

respective offices, severally take the following
oath: " I do solemnly swear that I will faith-
fully execute the office of , to the best of
my knowledge and ability, without favor, affec-
tion or partiality."

Powers.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That said Com-
missioners shall have the power to pass ordi-
nances regulating the market, the inspection,
measurement and weight of all provision a,
fish, oysters, crabs, grain, wood and coal sold
or to be consumed in said town; to suppress,
all disorderly meetings; to prohibit the use of
