collecting of a special license or tax of ten dol-
lars on each circus, and five dollars on each side-
show exhibiting within the corporate limits of
Pocomoke city, and a special discretionary
license tax on all smaller dramatic and other
performances or entertainments for gain, not
to exceed two dollars for each and every such
performance.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That this act
shall take effect from the date of its passage,

CHAPTER 174.
A SUPPLEMENT to an act entitled an act to
incorporate the Western Run Turnpike Com-
pany, passed March nineteen, eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-seven.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That section eight of the
above-named act be and is hereby repealed
and re-enacted to read as follows :
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That as said road
is finished and opened for travel the said Com-
pany shall be authorized to erect one or more
toll-gates thereon, and to charge and receive

tolls at such rates per mile and with such
rights and privileges as are prescribed to the
Baltimore and Yorktown Turnpike Company
by their charter and supplements thereto; and
provided, further, that all persons using said
road shall pay a uniform rate per mile for the
distance actually traveled on said road.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or
