Monday of April in each year, at the usual
place of holding elections in said town, elect
one person residing in said town, and having
real and personal property therein to the value
of five hundred dollars, Mayor of the town of
Frostburg.
4. And be it enacted, That the persons quali-
fied as required by the preceding section, shall,
on the first Monday in April, in the year eigh-
teen hundred and eighty-six, elect six persons
who shall have resided in the said town one
year next preceding said election, and who
shall be assessed on the books of the said town
to a sum not less than one hundred dollars, as
Councilmen of said town, and immediately

after the Council shall have convened after
the said election, the Councilmen shall be di-
vided by lot into two classes, as near equal in
number as may be, the first class to remain in
office one year, and the second class to remain
in office two years, so that at the regular elec-
tion on the first Monday of April, in the year
eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, and an-
nually thereafter, three Councilmen may be
elected for the term of two years to take the
place of those whose terms shall expire.

Effective.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage, and
all acts and parts thereof inconsistent with
the provisions of this act be and the same are
hereby repealed.
