SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 142.
AN ACT to refund to the Eutaw Savings Bank
of Baltimore, certain sums of money errone-
ously paid as State taxes into the Treasury
of this State.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the Comptroller of
the Treasury be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to issue his warrant to the Treas-
urer of the State in favor of the Eutaw Sav-
ings Bank of Baltimore, for the payment by
the said Treasurer to the said bank of the
sum of eight thousand six hundred and fifty-
seven dollars and ninety-five cents, being
money which the said Eutaw Savings Bank
of Baltimore erroneously paid into the State
Treasury for State taxes for the years eigh-

teen hundred and seventy-eight, eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-nine, eighteen hundred and
eighty, eighteen hundred and eighty-one, eigh-
teen hundred and eighty-two, eighteen hun-
dred and eighty-three and eighteen hundred
and eighty-four, upon deposits invested in
Baltimore city stock, upon which the taxes
were payable to the State by'the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore; the repayment of
said taxes to the said Eutaw Savings Bank of
Baltimore having been recommended by the
Comptroller and Treasurer of the State; pro-
vided, however, that such payment shall not
be made until the State of Maryland has col-
lected from the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore the State taxes upon those parts of
the loans or stocks of the city of Baltimore in
which the deposits in the said Eutaw Savings

To repay taxes.
