Thomas Mining Company, (organized by the

name of the Withers Mining Company, under
an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland,
passed at December session, eighteen hundred
and forty-seven, chapter three hundred and
six, and changed to the Thomas Mining Com-
pany, by act of said General Assembly, passed
Ja.nuary session, eighteen hundred and eighty,
chapter three hundred and seventy-eight), be
and is hereby changed to the "Frostburg Min-
ing Company," and by such name it shall suc-
ceed to all the rights, powers, liabilities and
obligations of said Thomas Mining Company.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That nothing herein
contained shall be in any manner construed to
effect or impair any assessment made by said
company on its stockholders by virtue of sec-
tions two and three of said act of eighteen
hundred and eighty, chapter three hundred

and seventy-eight, nor to impair the lien pro-
vided in section four of said act; but any and
all such assessments heretofore made, be and
are hereby ratified and confirmed, and said
company by its name given by this act shall
have the power to carry into effect and opera-
tion all the provisions of said act of eighteen
hundred and eighty, chapter three hundred
and seventy-eight, as fully as if said change of
name had not been made, in respect to both
past and future assessments.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That sections two
and three of the acts of Assembly of eighteen

pealed, and section two of said act is hereby re-
enacted to read as follows, viz. :
