AN ACT to appropriate a certain sum of money
to pay James F. Matthews, late State's At-
torney for Charles county, for professional
services rendered in the prosecution of the
sureties of George W. Carpenter, jr., on his
bond to appear before the Circuit Court for
Prince George's county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That tiie Comptroller of
the Treasury be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to draw his warrant upon the
Treasurer for the payment of one hundred
dollars to James F. Matthews, late State's At-
|

|
torney of Charles county, to compensate him
for professional services rendered the State iu
the prosecution of the sureties on the for-
feited recognizances of George W. Carpenter,
jr., for failure of said. Carpenter to appear
before the Circuit Court for Prince George's
county, at the October term of said Court, in
the year eighteen hundred and eighty-three.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
