Appoint.

pointment at the will and pleasure of the
Sheriff appointing him, and the last new
Sheriff shall have the power to remove any
guard he may find at the jail upon his en-
trance into office.

Effective.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 76.
AN ACT to encourage the destruction of hawks,
owls and crows in Worcester and Wicomico
counties.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That any person killing

Bounty.

any hawk or hawks within the limits of Wor-
cester and Wicomico counties, known as the
large hen hawk and large privateer hawk,
which are destructive to poultry, shall be en-
titled to a bounty of thirty-five cents for each
and every large hen hawk and large privateer
hawk killed.

|
Owls.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any person
killing any large hen or horn owl within the
limits of Worcester and Wicomico counties,
which are destructive to poultry, shall be en-
titled to a bounty of thirty cents. for each and
every large hen or horn owl killed.
|
|
|
Crows.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That any person
killing any crow or crows within the limits of
Worcester and Wicomico counties shall be en-
titled to a bounty of six cents for each and
every crow killed, by the production of the
scalp or head or heads of said crow or crows,
in conformity with the succeeding section.
