LAWS OF MARYLAND.

of the fourth collection district of Allegany
county, the sum of ten dollars and fifty-four
cents, being the sum the said Adam Thompson
has paid into the Treasury of the State errone-
ously as taxes collected for the year eighteen
hundred and eighty-three.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Approved March 25, 1886.

CHAPTER 71.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore to levy cer-
tain-sums of money to pay James M. Munroe
and Edgar H. Gans for professional services.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore are hereby authorized

To pay coun-
sel fees.

and empowered to levy upon the assessable
property of said city a sum of money sufficient
to pay James M. Munroe and Edgar H. Gans
the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars each,
for professional services rendered in the case
of the State of Maryland versus Thomas C.
Hance.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act take
effect from the date of its passage.
