Chapter 511.

AN ACT to repeal sections one, two, three, four and
|
|
|
|
six, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title " Caro-
|
|
|
|
line county," sub-title " County Commissioners," as
|
|
|
|
enacted by the act of assembly eighteen hundred
|
|
|
|
and eighty-two, chapter two hundred and fourteen,
|
|
|
|
and to re-enact the same with amendments provid-
|
|
|
|
ing for a new mode of electing the treasurer for
|
|
|
|
Caroline county, and changing the term of office
|
|
|
|
from two to four years.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
|
|
|
of Maryland, That sections one, two, three, four and
|
|
|
|
six, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title " Caroline
|
|
|
Repealed and
|
County," sub-title " County Commissioners," as en-
|
|
|
re enacted.

eighty-two, chapter two hundred and fourteen, be and
|
|
|
|
they are hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read
|
|
|
|
as follows :
|
|
|
|
SEC. 1. And be it enacted, That at the general elec-
|
|
|
|
tion for county officers to be held in November, eigh-
|
|
|

every four years thereafter, a county treasurer shall

be elected by the qualified voters of Caroline county,
|
|

who shall hold office for the term of four years from

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the person so elected

treasurer shall, before he enters upon the duties of his

office, first make and execute to the state of Maryland

a good and sufficient bond, and deliver the same to the

|
said county commissioners; said bond to be secured
|
|
|
|
with sureties thereto to be approved by the said
|
|
|
|
commissioners in the penal sum of twenty thou-
|
|
|
|
sand dollars, and conditioned for the faithful dis-
|
|
|
|
charge of the duties of the office of county treas-
|
|
|
|
urer and clerk to the county commissioners for Car-
|
|
|
|
oline county, and that he will well and faithfully
|
|
|
|
receive, account for and disburse all money and
|
|
|
|
moneys placed in his hands or received by him in
|
|
|
|
accordance with the order and direction of the said
|
|
|
