Chapter 491.


AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of


Frederick county to issue bonds for the payment of


the money borrowed by the County Commissioners


to buiild bridges in said county, and to substitute


to the stock of Turnpikes in said county, for which


the obligation of the county have been given, bear-


ing interest at the rate of five per cent, per annum,


and to collect taxes for the payment of such bonds


and the interest thereon.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted By the General Assembly


of Maryland, That the county commissioners of Fred-


erick county be and they are hereby authorized and


empowered to issue bonds in sums of not less than


one hundred nor more than one thousand dollars, to


be signed by the president of the said board of county
commissioners, countersigned by the clerk of said

board, not to exceed in the aggregate the amount of


sixty-five thousand dollars, said bonds to bear interest,


payable semi-annually on the first day of January and


the first day of July in each and every year, at the rate


of four per centum per annum; and the interest on

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said bonds shall
