tion due the officers of registration appointed under


the act of eighteen hundred and eighty-two, chapter


twenty-two, was resisted by the comptroller of the


state, under the advice of the attorney general, and


James Revell and John Ireland, as counsel to said

nisi prius and appellate courts to compel the payment


of said resisted compensation, at the request of the
