re-enacted so as to read as follows :


21. For every such license not to extend beyond the


county in which the same may be issued, there shall


be paid the following rates, to wit : for every license

to travel on foot the sum of forty dollars; to travel

Chapter 351.


AN ACT to authorize the commissioners of Somerset


county to pay the costs incurred by N. Walter


Dixon, who was returned without any fraud by the


judges of election of said county as State's Attorney


elect of Somerset county, in his contest with. Joshua


W. Miles, before the circuit court for Somerset


county, in which contest the office was awarded to


the said Miles, and the said Dixon was compelled


to pay the costs of said contest.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly


of Maryland, That the county commissioners of


Somerset county be and they are hereby authorized

to pay to N. Walter Dixon the sum of one hundred

aforesaid contest as certified by the clerk of the circuit
