Chapter 348.


AN ACT to provide for the protection of the prop-


erty of Railroads companies, and of property in


railroad cars and carnages, and to punish offences


against the same.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly


of Maryland, That any person, his aiders, abettors


and counsellor, who shall break open or enter into any


railroad car, then being upon the track of any rail-

chattels therein being, shall, upon conviction thereof,


be sentenced to the penitentiary for not less than one


year nor more than five years.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any person, his

injure or destroy any railroad locomotive, tender, car


or carriage belonging to or in the use of any railroad


company in this state, or being upon the track of any
