tion of the names of all the qualified voters in this

state,' by adding thereto a sub-section to be designated
|
|
|
|
as sub-section one A, specially providing for the appoint-
|
|
|
|
ment of officers of registration in the counties of this
|
|
|
|
state,' after the year eighteen hundred and eighty-
|
|
|
|
three," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
|
|
|
|
enacted so as to read as follows :
|
|
|
|
SUB-SECTION 1 A. At each regular session of the
|
|
|
|
general assembly, the governor shall nominate, and
|
|
|
|
by and with the advice and consent of the senate,
|
|
|
|
appoint one capable person in each election district
|

|
of every county in this state, who shall be a voter and
|
|
|
|
resident of the district for which he shall be appointed,
|
|
|
|
to be an officer of registration for the said election
|
|
|
|
district; and whenever a new election district shall
|
|
|
|
be created, the governor shall appoint, by and with the
|
|
|
|
advice and consent of the senate, a capable person
|
|
|
|
who shall be a voter and resident in such new district,
|
|
|
|
to be an officer of registration in such district; and it
|

the new district, together with the officer or officers

|
|
of registration of the district or districts out of which
|
|
|
|
the said new district may be formed, to cause the

voters living in such new district, and already regis-
|
|
|
|
tered therein, to be transferred from the books of the
|
|
|
|
old district or districts to a new registration book to
|
|
|
|
be provided for said new district, and the voters so
|
|
|
|
transferred shall be stricken from the old books and
|
|
|
|
noted as transferred to said new district.
