Chapter 207.


AN ACT to appropriate the sum of two thousand two


hundred and seven dollars and nineteen cents out


of the public school funds to reimburse Garrett


county for installments of said funds withheld from


said county in the years eighteen hundred and


eighty-one and eighteen hundred and eighty-three.


WHEREAS the sum of two thousand two hundred


and seven dollars and nineteen cents, viz., thirteen


hundred and seven dollars and sixty-seven cents, in


the year eighteen hundred and eighty-one, eight


hundred and ninety-nine dollars and fifty-two cents,


in the year eighteen hundred and eighty-three, of


the amount apportioned out of the public school


funds of Garrett county, was withheld from and not


paid to the board of school commissioners of said

county on account of the inability of said county to


comply with the law requiring the public schools in


the counties to be kept open seven and one-half


months in each year, said inability arising from the


fact of the said county having been but recently


created and subjected to large expenses in the or-


ganization of her county government and the erec-


tion of county buildings and building new school


houses —


SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the treasurer, on the warrant of the


comptroller, be and he is hereby authorized and di-


rected to pay to the board of school commissioners of


Garrett county the said sum of two thousand two hun-

is entitled to receive, to be paid out of the public
