Chapter 164.


AN ACT to repeal chapter three hundred and forty-


six of the acts passed at the January session, eigh-


teen hundred and eighty-two, entitled " An act to


authorize and enable William J. Thomas, proprietor


of the wharf at the foot of High street, Cambridge,


Dorchester county, to extend and enlarge the same,


and to re-enact the same, so as to read as follows :


SECTION I. Se it enacted by the General Assembly


of Maryland, That chapter three hundred and forty-


six of the acts passed at the January session, eighteen


hundred and eighty-two, entitled " An act to authorize

wharf at the foot of High street, Cambridge, Dor-


chester county, to extend and enlarge the same, be


and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so


as to read as follows :


SEC. '2. And be it enacted, That William J. Thomas,


proprietor of the wharf extending in the Choptank


river from the foot of High street, in the town of

eighteen hundred and twenty-two, be authorized and


enabled to extend and enlarge the same as follows :


SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the extension and


enlargement of said wharf shall commence at a point

nel of Choptank river, north fifty-one degrees east,


until it reaches a point where this line is intersected


by another line running in a northerly direction from


the outer or river line of the pier, at the end of said


wharf, and parallel with said pier, so that the outer or


river line of this enlargement and extension, and the


outer or river line of the said pier, shall be one and


the same straight line; and no deposit of shells or any


other impediment to free navigation shall extend


beyond this said line, and the said extension and


enlargement, when completed, shall be the property of


the said William J. Thomas, provided that nothing
