SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
|
|
|
of Maryland, That the acts and proceedings of Mar-
cus M. Fazen baker, as one of the justices of the peace
|
|
|
|
of the State of Maryland, in and for Garrett county,
|
Acts and pro-
ceedings make
|
|
|
during the period in which he acted as such justice, be
|
valid
|
|
|
and the same are hereby made as valid, and to have
|
|
|
|
the same effect and operation in law, as if the said
|
|
|
|
Marcus M. Fazenbaker had been legally appointed.
|
|
|
|

Chapter 134.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to give the consent of the state to the pur-
|
|
|
|
chase of a lot of ground in Baltimore county, by
|
|
|
|
the United States of America, for the purpose of
|
|
|
|
erecting a building for a Marine Hospital, and to
|
|
|
|
cede to the United States of America jurisdiction
|
|
|
|
over the same.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
|
|
|
of Maryland, That the consent of the State of Mary-
|
|
|
|
land is hereby given to the purchase by the United
|
|
|
|
States of America of any lots or parcels of ground in
|

|
|
|
Baltimore county, for the purpose of erecting a build-
|
|
|
|
ing for a Marine Hospital, for the use of the United
|
|
|
|
States of America.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That jurisdiction over
|
|
|
|
the said lots or parcels of ground, after the same shall
|
|
|
|
have been lawfully conveyed to the said United States
|
|
|
|
of America, be and it is hereby ceded, released and
|

relinquished to the United States of America over the

ceded, etc.

|
|
said lot or parcels of ground; provided, however, that
|
|
|
|
all civil, and such criminal process as may issue under
|
|
|
|
the authority of this state against any person or persons
|
|
|
|
charged with crimes and misdemeanors, committed
|
|
|
|
without said lots or parcels of ground, may be executed
|
|
|
|
therein in the same way and manner as though this
|
|
|
|
cession had never been made and granted, and that
|
|
|
|
the said hospital shall not be used for the treatment
|
|
|
|
of contagious diseases, and that the land over which
|
|
|
