Chapter 14.


AN ACT to provide additional employees for the


General Assembly of Maryland for the session 1884,


and to appropriate a sum of money to pay the same.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly


of Maryland, That there shall be appointed by the


President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House


of Delegates, the following officers : One policeman,


one keeper of the water closets, two keepers of the cloak

rooms, one for the Senate and one for the House of

Delegates, and one clerk to the Committee on Library,


for the session of the General Assembly for eighteen


hundred and eighty-four, provided that the appoint-


ment of clerk to the Library Committee, so to be


named, shall be made on the nomination of the Com-


mittee on Library.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the pay of the offi-


cers, to be appointed as above provided, shall be five

sworn in until the end of the session.


SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the sum of fifteen


hundred dollars, or so much thereof as may be neces-


sary, is hereby appropriated, and the sum of two hun-


dred and twenty-five dollars is hereby appropriated to .
