Chapter 90.


AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of


Calvert county to build a jail in said county, and


to borrow money for that purpose, to issue bonds


for the payment of the same, and to levy taxes on


the assessable property in said county to redeem


said bonds and to pay the interest thereon.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly


of Maryland, That the county commissioners of Cal-


vert county be and they are hereby authorized and


empowered to contract for and to build a jail in Cal-


vert county, and to superintend the building thereof


in such manner as said commissioners may deem pro-


per; and, for the purpose of paying for the building


of said jail, the said county commissioners are hereby


authorized to borrow, on the credit of said county,


such sum or sums of money as may be necessary, not

exceeding in all the sum of four thousand dollars, and

not less than one hundred dollars nor more than one

annum, payable annually on the first day of July in


each year after their issue, and until the same are


paid; provided that said bonds shall not be disposed


of by the said commissioners at less than their par
