SEC....... Any justice of the peace residing in said

SEC....... Nothing in this act shall be so construed as

to affect the tenure of office of the commissioners of
|
|

said town in office at the time of the passage of this
|

act, and who were elected on the first Monday in June,
|

|

eighteen hundred and eighty-three; but said commis-
|

|
|
sioners shall continue in office until the expiration of
|
|
|
|
the time for which they were elected, and shall con-
|
|
|
|
tinue to exercise the powers and perform the duties
|
|
|
|
now or hereafter vested in them by law until the ex-
|
|
|
|
piration of the time for which they were elected, or
|
|
|
|
until their successors shall qualify.
