Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Howard County, " to be
under sub-title "Beers and Light Wines, " said new sections
to be known as Sections 226A to 226J, both inclusive, and
to follow immediately after Section 226 of said Article, and
to read as follows:
226A. The term "beverages" as used in this Act shall
include beer, lager beer, ale, porter, wine and other brewed
or fermented beverages containing one-half of one per cen-
tum or more of alcohol by volume but not more than 3. 2 per
centum of alcohol by weight.
226B. In Howard County the Clerk of the Circuit Court
for Howard County is authorized to issue licenses to per-
sons, firms, corporations or associations on applications
duly made therefor, for the sale of beverages within the
limits of Howard County, subject, however, to the limita-
tions and restrictions imposed by this Act. The Clerk of
the Circuit Court for Howard County shall keep a full rec-
ord of all applications for licenses, which applications shall
be furnished by the County Commissioners.
226C. It shall be lawful for any brewer or manufacturer
to sell to licensees under the provisions of this Act, in
Howard County, any beverage or beverages authorized to
be manufactured or brewed by the laws of the United
States of America, and of the State of Maryland.
226D. Any person, firm, corporation or association de-
siring a license for the sale of beer under this Act shall file
with the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Howard County
an application therefor in such form as may be by him
prescribed. Each license shall designate the place of busi-
ness of the licensee. Each application for license shall con-
tain:
First: The name and residence of the applicant.
Second: The particular place for which a license is de-
sired designating the same by street and number if prac-
ticable; if not, by such other apt description as definitely
locates it.
Third: The name of the owner of the premises upon
which the business licensed is to be carried on.
Fourth: A statement that the applicant applying for a
license in his or her own behalf, or as the representative
of a firm, corporation or association, is a citizen of the
United States and of the State of Maryland, and that he
is not less than twenty-one years of age.
