imprisoned for not more than one year, or both fined and
imprisoned in the discretion of the court.
Section 718. After the payment of the salaries of the
members of the Board of Beer License Commissioners
hereinbefore provided, the balance in their hands for all
fees for licenses or permits prescribed in this Act which
may be paid them shall by them be paid to the County Com-
missioners of Prince George's County and be a part of the
general fund of said county.
Section 719. This entire Act shall be deemed an exer-
cise of the police powers of the State for the protection of
public health, peace, morals and safety and all its provi-
sions shall be liberally construed for the attainment of that
purpose, and if any section or part of section of this Act
shall be held "to be void or unconstitutional, it is hereby
enacted that all other sections or parts of sections of the
same, which are not expressly held to be void or unconsti-
tutional, shall continue in full force and effect.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 489.
AN ACT to add ten new sections to Article 14 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Howard County, " to be under sub-title "Beers and Light
Wines, " said new sections to be known as Sections 226A
to 226J, both inclusive, and to follow immediately after
Section 226 of said Article, providing for the sale of beer,
lager beer, ale, porter, wine and other brewed or fer-
mented beverages containing one-half of one per centum
or more of alcohol by volume but not more than 3. 2 per
centum of alcohol by weight; prescribing license fees to
be paid for the sale thereof, providing how and by whom
said licenses shall be issued, and repealing all public gen-
eral and public local laws inconsistent herewith.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That ten new sections be and they are hereby
added to Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
