due and payable; to license or tax dogs within the
corporate limits of Middletown, and to regulate. the
keeping of dogs therein, and to prevent dogs from run-
ning at large in the town; to prevent introduction of con-
tagious diseases; to suppress drunkenness, vice and im-
morality; to punish by fines, breaches of the peace, and
preserve the peace, order and quiet of the town; to assess
the property within said taxable limits, and to levy and
collect taxes thereon, necessary to carry into effect the
ordinances of the town.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 399.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Alle-
gany County to provide for the transportation of school
children in Allegany County to their respective schools.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Allegany
County are authorized and empowered, in their discretion,
to provide for the transportation to and from school of
children attending any school in Allegany County, such
transportation, on order of said County Commissioners, to
be provided by the Board of Education of Allegany County
in the school busses already provided for by said Board of
Education/tor to be provided for by it in the future when-
ever said busses may have carrying capacity in excess of
that required to transport public school children or through
contracts for transportation by said County Commission-
ers with private individuals or corporations authorized to
transport passengers in Allegany County, provided, how-
ever, that when any such contract or contracts are neces-
sary, said County Commissioners shall only make such con-
tracts when satisfactory arrangements are made for re-
imbursement in whole or in part.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this bill shall
take effect June 1, 1933.
