ordinances as may be necessary to carry out and give full
force and effect to the powers conferred upon said corpora-
tion by law; and be it further enacted, that the Mayor and
Town Council shall have the right to provide for the or-
ganization, equipment and government of fire companies
and to permit said fire companies to organize as a body,
and to provide within itself all rules and regulation of its
members and property appertaining thereto, subject to the
general supervision of the said Mayor and Town Council;
and be it further enacted that the said Mayor and Town
Council of Oakland be and they are hereby empowered, in
their discretion to contribute to the support and mainte-
nance of a free public library and the Gilbert-Brown Boys
Band, or such other musical organization as may succeed
the same, if said library and/or said musical organization
be maintained within said town, a sum not to exceed two
hundred dollars for each of said organizations in any one
year and to include the same in the annual levy provided
for by Section 418 of this Article.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 334.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
274 of Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's County, "
sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables, " sub-
heading "Police Justice, " decreasing the compensation
of the Police Justice.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 274 of Article 18 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Queen Anne's County, " sub-title "Justices of the Peace
and Constables, " sub-heading "Police Justice, " be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to
read as follows:
274. Said Police Justice shall be paid a salary of
twelve hundred dollars a year, or the proportionate
