part thereof, so long as he shall continue to act as such
Police Justice, said salary to be paid by the County Com-
missioners of Queen Anne's County, in equal monthly in-
stalments, and shall be paid as full compensation for serv-
ices rendered under this Act; and no Police Justice shall
charge any fee other than provided by law or receive any
gratuity for making any commitment, granting any re-
lease, or the performance of any duty required by law in
criminal cases, or when acting as coroner; but the said
County Commissioners shall in no case pay the aforesaid
salary until the said Police Justice shall have first filed his
monthly reports as required by Section 275 of this Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 335.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
241 of Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's County, "
sub-title "Jailer and Jail, " reducing the cost of boarding
prisoners in the County Jail.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 241 of Article 18 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Queen Anne's County, " sub-title "Jailer and Jail, " be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to
read as follows:

241. He shall be entitled to receive for boarding and
keeping any prisoner in said jail, such sum per day as the
County Commissioners for said county may in their dis-
cretion determine, said sum not to be less than forty
cents, nor more than seventy-five cents per day, and to an
annual allowance from said county sufficient to furnish fuel
for the comfort and benefit of said prisoners.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
