than ten days before the date of said election. In case any
person having been elected Mayor or Councilman shall
cease to be a resident or freeholder in said town he shall
immediately cease to hold or exercise said office, and it is
hereby declared vacant and shall be filled as hereinafter
provided. The Mayor and Councilmen shall receive no
pay for their services except the Mayor who shall be en-
titled to the fees hereinafter allowed. During his said term
of office, the Treasurer shall also be the tax collector for
said town and perform all of the duties of said office and
receive such compensation as is provided for the same.

343. The annual election for officers of said town shall
be held on the first Monday of March in each and every
year, except that no election shall be held in the year 1919
as provided by Section 3. The Mayor and Council shall
have the power to fix the hour and place for holding said
election in said town, and the length of time the polls shall
be kept open, and shall give due notice of such election by
printed or written hand bills posted in at least six public
and conspicuous places in said town at least twenty
days prior to the holding of such election. Such Mayor and
Council shall have power to appoint Judges and Clerks for
such elections, and it shall be their duty to do so, and to
make all other necessary arrangements for holding the
same, not herein provided for. The term of office of all
officers of said town shall expire on the first Monday of
March or as soon as their successors are elected and quali-
fied. Notice of all citizens' meetings held for the purpose
of nominating candidates for town offices shall be given by
printed or written hand bills posted in at least six public
and conspicuous places in said town at least five days prior
to the holding of such meeting or meetings.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 332.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
12 of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1929 Supplement), title "County Commissioners, " sub-
title "General Provisions, " exempting Garrett County
from the provisions of the same.
