on certain bonds of said municipal corporation, certain
other municipal obligations and also for the payment of
current general municipal expenses, and to execute the,
promissory notes of said municipal corporation, the Town
Commissioners of Centreville, for the amount so borrowed.
Said note and/or notes shall be drawn in such amount
and/or amounts as said municipal corporation shall in its
discretion determine but the total amount of said promis-
sory note and/or notes shall not exceed Fifteen Thousand
Dollars ($15, 000. 00), and the said municipal corporation,
the Town Commissioners of Centreville, is hereby author-
ized and empowered, for and during a period not extending
longer than July 1, 1935, to renew said promissory note
and/or notes as they mature from time to time, in whole
or in part, until all of said promissory notes and interest
to accrue thereon shall have been fully paid, but no note
or notes or renewal note or notes shall be drawn so as to
fall due after the first day of July, 1935, and no note or
notes or renewal note or notes shall be given by said munici-
pal corporation after the first day of July, 1935.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this is an emer-
gency law necessary for the health, safety and best inter-
est of the citizens of Centreville, and three-fifths of the
members of the General Assembly of Maryland concurring
therein, shall take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
56K of Article 65 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1929 Supplement), title "Militia, " sub-title "Veterans'
Guardianship. "
SECTION 1., Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 56K of Article 65 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1929 Supplement), title "Militia, " sub-
title "Veterans' Guardianship, " be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:
56K. Compensation payable to guardians shall not
exceed 5 per cent, of the income and benefits re-
